The project involved the conversion of ten existing underground salt caverns into gas storage facilities, together with the construction of a main underground gas pipeline and a new gas plant.
The scale and nature of the works required ongoing health and safety management across construction activities, contractors, equipment and site operations.
Sol Wind Experience
The experience behind Sol Wind included providing health and safety management across the project and supporting contractors operating within the construction environment. Responsibilities included contractor inductions, toolbox talks, incident investigation, CDM support and advice relating to equipment certification and compliance.
Outcome
The project provided experience supporting a major energy infrastructure development involving underground gas-storage conversion, pipeline construction and development of a new gas plant.
